• The Gridrunner Mega Mech was the first of its kind, a truly ingenutive introduction to the mega mech size range. Weighing in at 430 tons, the Gridrunner is surprisingly fast and manoverable for its size due to its combined use of legs and wheels as well as the utilization of thrusters and jumping pistons. The Gridrunner is very stable in low to high G environments and it can fully operate within these environments as well. The Gridrunner is also capable of being fully functional in space thanks to the usage of hydrogen thrusters which are fueled by 3x 02/H2 Generators and 3x Small Hydrogen Tanks. It also features an on-board full assembler (no modules) and basic refinery to allow it to sustain itself off of scraps or mined materials, and features an enclosed cockpit with an oxygen supply of two oxygen tanks.

The Gridrunner can be fully accessible by foot by pressing a button on the right foot to send down the raise guided by a ladder, once lowered climb into the raise chamber with the ladder and wait for the raise to retract after 10 seconds. Then, looking to the back of the Gridrunner, a ladder to the upper right should be reachable for you to climb into the cockpit.

The Gridrunner is easy to use and not hard to pilot as it provides great stability thanks to the wheels, thrusters, and override gyro. There are a few tricks hidden within the Gridrunner you could learn such as a kick (by manipulating the leg actuators, mixed results but mostly successful), or you can do the one-legger where it skates with one leg down and the other up. Don’t forget that it can also jump using HOTBAR1, which you can turn into speed-boosting-hops with enough practice.

The final significant feature of the Gridrunner would be its two mounting points on the port and starboard sides of it. These mounting points can hold modules you wish to attach to it to give it a unique task to accomplish. You could equip a habitation pod on the right arm that comes with a survival kit, a bed and more or you could equip a mining module used to detect ore and deploy a drill, who knows! Weight is not much of a worry for the Gridrunner as I’ve tested it once on Alien with a maxed out inventory, yeah trust me...
