Hello everyone, meet Dell, fun fact, that is not his actual name, or at least very likely not his name, we just thought it would fit.
This is a model we saw when playing around with The orange box for the Xbox 360 (WE DID NOT DISCOVER THIS FILE) we did ask BoxFigs: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/id/BoxFigs/ for the file for us in the Portal Beta, and we are posting this here mostly for archival's sake.

Includes:
player\male_portal_player.mdl
player\male_anims.mdl

Thank you to Not Dave or Daniel for the poster used in the thumbnail showing off Dell's clear excitement to have been found.

Thankyou to Dr.Error for showing us the funny model in the Xbox version of The Orange box and filling the starting room of the portal with Dell lol.

They're a holdover from the cut Combine Assassin from Half-Life 2 that were sorta just jammed onto Chell's model for an explanation to why she don't get destroyed from fall damage.

In Portal 2, the advanced knee replacement would end up being retconned in favor of the long fall boots.

They are a prosthetic for Chells broken ankles.

Hello!
I was wondering if there was a reason or lore behind the wire (or metal or whatever material) things that start at the back of (im just going to go with this for now) Chell's (hope i got the character right, im kinda new to Portal) knees and end around (or maybe under?) her feet?

i have a little idea as to what it could be...

btw: I like the model but I dont know where i would use it. Wonder if Dell and Chell would be friends\partners if they were both in the game

I understand your frustration, I made a half-assed edit to the description a while ago and never bothered to fix it because I didn't realize people cared and thats my fault.

You and me both, but I appreciate this file as I am working on a project currently with Portal and the conversion here has some corrections on the animations and rigging that we didn't require in the main Project Beta build, so in a way this altered version helps. Apologies if I came off rude

We didn't get this model off the 360 disks, we saw it there when either I was fucking around either when I was fucking around with the 360 files for fun or I was watching someone spawn the model in on the 360 version of portal, and were curious about it before we knew anybody else already found it. Then we saw that someone else already had it and we wanted to upload it here. I apologize if the description made it look like we were trying to take credit for finding it. The 2nd to the bottom line of the description made it a point that we did not find it, I'm just terrible at writing things.

You didn't get this model off the x360 disk, we ripped that disk in the project beta team, we even ported over the still alive maps from the 360, the model was only there in reference files. The textures and the model itself were procured from sources with my team, the Portal Project Beta Team, subbed this and the gmod files and they are our files so IDK who this Dr. Error is but sounds like a load of bs to me.
