E.M.C. Jacob's Ladder

Jacob's Ladder has been built using components from the Modular Space Station Kit (MSSK).

OSD-16 'Jacob's Ladder' is one of the many Orbital Supply Depots that form the backbone of Einmann Mining Corp's logistics chain. The station is designed primarily as an intermediary between atmospheric LOAR (Lift-Off-And-Re-entry) craft like The Zephyrus and inter-planetary container ships such as The Boreas.

LOAR craft from the surface bring mostly refined metals native to the planet, and return with supplies for the mining colonies. FTL-capable container ships then collect and distribute materials between worlds whilst keeping outer-rim colonies supplied with essential components, as well as fuel and rare elements not found locally.

The station's secondary role is harvesting, storing and transferring energy. Without any atmospheric interference, the large solar array captures the nearby star's energy, which is then stockpiled across it's extensive electrical network. It can recharge docked ships and also accepts Intermodal Power Blocks (which comply with the space-freight container standard).

The docking ring has capacity for eight Intermodal Space Freight Containers and docking bays for two ships. There are four landing pads in the lower decks for smaller vessels: typically tugs, defence drones and maintenance craft (not included). It can can sleep up to 16 workers at a time and has it's own med-bay, emergency power-station, refinery and assembler.
