No natural caves on the map.
As far as the deroof mining actually working or not, at the time I'd tried with the option turned on and off and there was no difference. Haven't tested it recently since the mod I switched to replaces thick roofs on a map with removable thin roofs. Until that mod, I literally had a bit of mountain over part of my base, because it didn't get removed when the stone was mined.
As for the game interface, I cannot seem to be able to reproduce that behaviour. I removed the mod and loaded my main save and the interface loaded fine. To test further I also made a separate save where I left a bunch of de-roof mine jobs scheduled on the map, then removed the mod and loaded the save, but everything was fine too. Must be a mod conflict of some sort.
