3SP - Medical Lander (vanilla, survival, lander)

The Medical Lander is designed for reliable transportation in and out of gravity wells. It is equip with a Survival Kit for establishing new bases and respawning. In addition, it can be maneuvered in atmosphere without hydrogen thrusters, thus extending its range and utility greatly. The large hydrogen tank extends its range similarly in vacuum.

Recommended Liftoff Procedure
- at least have a full tank of hydrogen, and it's always a good idea to fill your O2/H2 Generator with Ice
- keep ship level with horizon for entirety of transition (as indicated on HUD)
- begin ascending with Atmospheric and Small Hydrogen Thrusters ON
- pulse your Hydrogen Thrusters on and off allowing your speed to drop a little below maximum before boosting back up (this is for fuel efficiency)
- at around 0.5G you can turn your Atmospheric Thrusters off
- continue to pulse upwards until you exit P-Gravity

Recommended Landing Procedure
- enter planetary gravity and level ship with the horizon (as indicated on HUD)
- turn Atmospheric and Small Hydrogen Thrusters ON
- fall into the atmosphere (inertial dampeners off)
- when you near the surface (~1,000 to 3,000 meters) turn inertial dampeners back on
- if you don't slow to a controlled descent use your parachutes!
- Atmospheric Thrusters alone should be sufficient to hover but you can use the Small Hydrogen Thrusters if needed
