this mod is working 1.12.1 + but if you are using any mod that changes the faction in expecific the ranged units or a custom faction somehow it dont work as its pre setted to already existent factions in game, so i opted to use a trainer and activate and deactivate Whoever i want and for any faction i m using

Also if it works with other mods, like radious or is just for the vanilla game.

I don't know if there's any for player only.

Does this affect AI also or player only ? if its also AI is there a Mod for player only ?

Correct, if you have custom units, you need to edit those tables as well.

This is evidently not working for non vanilla units?
