This is an updated version of my old sensor mod. I added cool shrouds and frags, and this is the result.

Have fun with the incredibly diverse palette!

Note: this factions release was a tiny bit rushed because I wanted to release something, so there might be balance issues and minor bugs. If you notice anything, let me know and I will make sure to update the mod asap!






LORE:
A small faction decided they had enough of living as the underdogs of the galaxy.
Their technology was fairly advanced, but nowhere near the technological superpowers of the rest of the galaxy.
Their main survival tactic was basically just to have to agree to terms given to them by other factions.
This meant that they were dirt poor and had very little actual territory/ships.


The faction was close to being completely annexed as they were unable to continue to pay taxes and debts incurred by other factions.
In a last ditch effort to survive, everyone capable was thrown onto a bunch of quickly made ships to head into the unknown and hopefully find some esoteric power so they wouldn't have to run from the bigger factions anymore.
Those who stayed behind ended up either dying or joining another faction.


As the ships grew closer to their goal, they underwent corruption. At first it was just small things; someone was drinking water, when suddenly a drop of gold appeared at the bottom of their cup.
With time however, these wacky events began to exponentially grow in time between them and their scale.
The crew scrambled to turn the ships around, but the ships no longer responded to their controls, having gained basic sentience (not enough to actually think, but enough to not be controlled by the computer systems).
As the sentience of the ships grew, they became horrified by the fleshy beings within them/their "brethren."
The ships embraced the changes to their structures and tried to kill everyone inside them.
They quickly succeeded in this, but at that point the complete lack of any resistance and the rapidly increasing esoteric presence completely corrupted anything left over.


The sheer power of the unknown against completely unprotected entities overloaded the brains of the ships.
The components of the ship rearranged into crystalline structures that tessalated in a vaguely ship-shaped form. Weapon fell off as magical runes were carved into the hull below.
Metal underwent chemical recomposition into elemental structures that constantly shifted through states that shouldn't be possible. Any leftover electrical systems surged with magic.
In a stroke of luck, the ships ended up drifting away from the influence of the unknown. As they drifted away, they slowly reawoke, but the changes to their form were permanent.
