It seems that screenshots are being deleted from all my addon pages, I'm not sure why. Please note that there should be groups of 3 screenshots for every scene, one of HL2, HL2:U, and the current addon map respectively.

High Resolution Cubemaps & Shadows

This is a map from Half-Life 2's campaign. I strongly recommend having played the original game first before experiencing this.

Another map where I showcase the maximum extent of the Source Engine's static lighting system using GMod's 64bit compile tools. Features 256x256 resolution cubemaps and the highest resolution shadows possible without the compile tools throwing errors due to to many vertices. This is probably the least realistic one yet, but the sharp-yet-soft shadows cast by the fences and trees are extremely appealing to me nonetheless.

Compiled for LDR & HDR and retains full functionality as long as you have Half-Life 2 purchased & installed on Steam, and mounted in Garry's Mod. Also includes a navmesh.

Map name is d1_town_01_hrcs, and can be found in the "Half-Life 2" map section.

Progressing backwards in the level upon spawning will take you to map d1_eli_02_hrcs if you are subscribed to it. Completing the level as you would in Half-Life 2 will take you to map d1_town_01a_hrcs if you are subscribed to it.

Trivia:
  • Skybox has been opened up so you can see later parts of the map from the beginning
  • The first 1GB map (at least in this series), most of it is HDR Cubemaps
  • Decals can act wonky due to the engine being overloaded
  • This map is not from a decompile

Very nice job you did here. I've played almost all the maps, but I'm gonna wait until the whole canal section is complete, but one question though. Is canal "d1_cnalas_10_hrcs" supposed to have almost a half of it missing? Because I played the map, though I did skip the elevator where you put down the airboat, so could that be the reason? I mean like the small red warehouse. I'll provide a screenshot when I can.

I have intentions to do the entirety of Half-Life 2, not sure when I'll be finished, got a lot going on.

So, will you make like all maps from Half-Life: 2 as HRCS? Or are you going to make specific maps from Half-Life: 2?
