[LKF] Ballista class Cruiser

Ballista class cruisers went through rushed development in order to contend with frequently sighted REC cruisers, as the Star Hammer class took a long time to produce and was costly in components. The Ballista class could be built quicker and was less expensive, this lead to LKF deciding to make them the new frontline cruiser for LKF fleets.

REC, being wary of the Serenade class, at first mistook the Ballista line for Serenade class heavy Cruisers. Not thinking LKF would try to develop a new Cruiser at this stage of the war.

Backed by supply lines and the economic power of the WEC LKF actually had no problem funding the development of the Ballista line. And thus far it has proven to be a sturdy and well balanced ship.

Description

The Ballista is a standard Cruiser, being equipped with a good point defense grid, good fire power and armour. It can carry a squadron of Alto class fighters and also features a flight deck aft of the vessel for shuttle craft to land.

The ships interior is extensive and has been organised using a corridor and deck system. The ship features full production capabilities, with the option to carry an Arbeiter with it to restock munitions and fuel. The crew enjoy a lounge and large mess hall. Engineering is open and gives you access to all the ships major components such and the jump drives.
