I can't seem to get the ground sunken like that, it makes ttunnels, How do you place this as it appears on the image above?

This worked amazingly for my needs. I didn't want massive system interchanges in my city, but my simple diamond service interchanges were beginning to struggle. Looks elegant and has smashed traffic at 20k+ pop so far. You will need to tell the game what to do with some lights and lanes, but well worth the small amount of effort IMO.
