High Elf Mistral Heralds

A new T3.5 infantry unit for High Elves.

This is not related to anything in existing lore, but isn't anything too crazy from a lore perspective.

The unit model is a kitbash and retexture, as seen in the screenshots.

The Mistral Heralds are dedicated to the Elven God of the Sea, Mathlann. They are dual sword anti-infantry with decent armour and a dodge. They have two activated abilities:

Wreath in Clouds: The Mistrals cloak themselves and their opponents in mist. Their offensive output drops almost to zero, but they gain significant physical damage resistance.
Tsunami: Channeling the rage of Mathlann, the Heralds gain significant bonuses to charge speed and bonus, gain the ability to cause Terror on melee strikes, but lose almost all their melee defence.

Using one ability puts both on cooldown, so they cannot be combined.


In comparison to other HE infantry units:
They will lose fairly badly in a head to head against Swordmasters.
They will win but take significant losses against Phoenix guard/White Lions.
They will crush any of the T1 infantry.

Their special abilities hopefully give them a bit more tactical flexibility and interesting use (stoneskin plus tsunami is one obvious combination). I doubt they are perfectly balanced, but I've at least tried to make them not ridiculous.

This is part of a series of units I'll be releasing, in part to bring the High Elves a little closer to the gender parity that is supposed to be present in their military.
