Autonomics, a label once associated with only the finest automation available. The galaxy-wide success of automation brought about a golden age, an age now long gone, and thus forgotten. What remains of that age is all that comprises the factions of today, ships fully staffed by sub-sapient AIs, technologies built out of self-maintaining supermaterials, and numerous majesties thought unachievable in the first age.
