Class description
Frigates (FF) are a class of smaller to midsize warships, capable of independent operations but best supported with corvettes and destroyers or part of a larger formation. These warships have a conventional gun based design philosophy and carry little missile armament, and generally no torpedo armament. They specialize in anti-naval and anti-airship operations. This prioritization means AA capabilities are suboptimal compared to destroyers. Anti-sub weapons are usually not present. Carrying a comparably small powerplant, they have fewer defensive measures compared to the average destroyer. This class evolves via the light cruisers into the Dreadnought class of (pocket) battleships.

The ship
The Endeavour is the entry vessel into the gunship line of ships. Being barely larger than some of the corvettes available within Eagle Industries, she works in similar ways. The Endeavour class is designed to be a general purpose, escort oriented vessel. Carrying 180mm dual purpose guns, she can take on both aircraft and vessels. The guns will switch ammo depending on the presented target, using either FLAK based rounds or HESH. Carrying two AA missile launchers fore and aft and two large torpedo launchers in the stern, it's a well rounded and balanced design. Downside of this, of course, is that it excels at nothing. It will not be as good against surface vessels as the Hunter and Shortsword class corvettes are, or even the Wraith class FAC. But if you need a cheap to run escort vessel or picket ship, this will do fine.
