Performance review of the Shortsword led to the conclusion that this ship was ill-suited for its tasks. The following changes have been applied:
- Upgraded the armor
- Replaced the engine for a more potent one to accomodate better propulsion
- Upgraded propulsion to maintain the same speed as before, even with added weight.
- Replaced the missiles in the VLS for laser guided missiles
- Replaced the aft (large) torpedo lauchers for medium sized, laser guided torpedoes
- Placed a sonar bouy launcher for added targetting precision
Firepower has increased from 110 to 135. The new torpedoes and missiles tend to hit much heavier and more reliable, increasing ship effectiveness.
Under certain circumstances (e.g. battledamage or high waves) the ship could start doing wheelies due to its low weight and relatively high CoM.
Placed ACBs to control main propulsion power to help prevent this.
