Volcano Island

About

Volcano Island is a string of islands that were formed from eruptions that occurred in the area many millennia ago. The one featured here is just one of the many in the region that have shaped the islands in and around the area as a whole. This now dormant volcano has left the area rich and fertile, making the whole land teem with flora, and have beautiful white sandy beaches all around. The area is also rich with oil and is nicely positioned between two prominent ship lanes making it ideally located to connect to the rest of the world.

General info

This was a map I built on a whim on a hot, creative-less night, but at the same time, is something that's been on my mind for a while. As a result, unlike my other maps, this one doesn't come with a build video. It's meant to be a tropical map with beaches, and lots of greenery. This map features a large building area at the base of what I consider to be a dormant volcano but also having plenty of little islands around for building resorts, upper class houses, etc. I kinda built this with 81 tiles in mind, so some beaches will stretch out of the 25 tiles building area, but most of them are still within the 25 tiles.

  • The map has ~170k trees and 0 props.
  • You shouldn't need any DLCs to run this map, but you do need two custom trees.

really nice map, reminds me of one of my all time favorite maps from the beginning of CSL years ago called "caldera".

Btw those trees listed as needed assets are both part of the vanilla base game and were introduced along other mrmaison trees with the free update together with the airport dlc.
Don't know if its easy to change the asset now but i think there is some sort of prop swapper.

Really enjoying this map, my one piece of constructive feedback is that I feel the water / rivers on the south side of the volcano are a bit too big. On my build I spent a bit of time editing it to make them more like smaller streams, as I found the amount of flowing water a bit excessive and didn't feel like it fit the scale of the terrain. Beyond that though everything about this map scratches my love of tropical oceanfront builds and I have a feeling ill be dumping a lot of hours into this map. Keep up the good work!
