About this guide

The guide attempts provide directions, hints or even direct location to find all secrets in Hrot Episode 2: The Degustation as well as achievements hints for specific levels. If you are looking for other episodes secrets, see links below.

The list of secrets and achievements is in the order you can usually first find them (but not necessarily order of solving them).

Before you visit the secrets location on the maps or continue reading this guide, I would suggest trying to find the secrets on your own first, they are usually not too difficult. :)

Navigating this guide

The guide is divided in chapters, one each for specific map of the Episode 2: The Degustation.

Each chapter is divided in multiple sections:

Brief information about the level
Level specific achievements, if any
List of secrets where the secret reward is revealed, but the actual hints are hidden under blacked-out spoiler, requiring you to hover over the blacked-out section to reveal the text.
Under the spoilers you can find a small hint that should help you find the secret on your own first, or another more detailed hint second.
Picture of the in-game map of the level with marked locations of secrets numbered to corresponding secrets. The map can contain achievement or special locations as well.

Using the guide

In case you can't find the secret(s), I suggest following these steps:

Check what secret reward you are missing and refer to the small hint.
If you can't find it after reading the small hint, either read the second part of the hint, providing clearer and more detailed description,
or look up the secret location on the map. You can open the in-game map by pressing M key (default binding) in game.

Of course it's entirely up to you if you will use map first or if you want just a small hint.

General Achievements

This section lists all general achievements you should be able to obtain while playing Episode 1: Kiss me Gustav. Usually, those achievements are not bound to any specific level, but can be obtained anytime while playing Hrot.

E2M1: Točník Castle

Map information

Number of secrets: 8

Missable enemy: The White Lady
Refer to Fidas vide achievement

Weapons to be found:

Hussite Hand Cannon (secret #1)
Lightning Gun (secret #2)
Submachine Gun (secret #5)

Achievements

Achievement: Just You Wait!

Hint: At the start of the level (chicken area/green dot on map) you can find a handheld console, achieve score of 200 points to get the achievement.

Achievement: Fidas vide

Hint:When inside castle, there is a painting of White Lady.
Detailed hint: When you interact with the painting (specifically the text on it) the White Lady enemy will spawn and you will get the achievement.

Achievement: Boletus

Hint: Mushrooms grow under the trees.
Detailed hint: In the big open space area with trees (where you also get to fight three war wagons) there is a small Boletus mushroom next to one of the trees. Just pick it up.

E2M1 Secrets

Hussite Hand Cannon
Immediately at the start of the level there is a blocked passage to your right, it looks like stones wall between the wooden planks. You need to shoot an switchboard box to open it. The box is located on a wall in the first area with chicken, it's not difficult to find it. Passage contains 1 Kčs coin and Hussite Hand Cannon wepaon
Lightning Gun
Inside the castle you will find a wardrobe/cupboard in the room right after the room with White Lady painting. The cupboard can be destroyed (by a sickle or any other means). This opens a way to the unmissable Lightning Gun.
Pistol
Same entry as with previous secret, you will just have to interact with a wall and climb the ladder in this hidden castle area.
Backpack
Before entering the first castle room interact with wall on the right of the stairs, it opens a secret area with a backpack.
Elevated Submachine Gun
You need to lower the platform the machine gun is placed on. To do this simply press protruding brick above the torch on the right.
The location of the brick is yellow dot on the map
Calvaria of Čáslav
In the big open space with trees there is a crack on a wall, simply destroy it to open a passage to the secret.
Explosive ammo
Before interactingthe first valve you can interact with a wall to the left of the valve, it reveals the secret.
Arrows ammo
When entering the area where you can use the bronze key, you can notice a recess in a wall to the opposite side of the entrance stairs. Just interact with the wall here and it will reveal the secret area

E2M1 Map

E2M2: Uranium Mine

Map information

Number of secrets: 9

Gate switch code:
Hint (code): 1001
Hint (how to): (interact with the ones on the left and the right edges)

Weapons to be found:

Hussite Hand Cannon (secret #2)
Pistol (secret #4)
Brno Super Shotgun (secret #7)
Lightning Gun (secret #9)

Level specific achievements

Achievement: On A Rail

You can't miss this achievement, you get it for riding the mining train.

E2M2 Secrets

Backpack
After first stepping on the rails you have to jump on the huge machinery with elevating wheel (that can kill you), you will pick up machinegun and on the left side of the wall there is an omega symbol Ω. Interact with it and it opens a secret spot.
Hussite Hand Cannon
When finding the are with bridge over a water, simply drop down and explore the area, you will find Hussite Hand Cannon there.
Just a fart
After picking up the HHS come back to the water area right below the bridge. There is a crack on the wall, use your HHS to destroy it. Now you need to go back on the bridge and jump into this spot, just hug the wall. You will find nothing but a fart psilocybe mushrooms there.
Pistol
In the stash area with a dog and rusted key on shelves there is a hidden electric panel, simply shoot it to reveal a secret area in the room containing second pistol.
Coin
In the area after the first train gate there is a pool of water, simply dive down to find a corridor with 1 Koruna coin.
Can of Blood and Fat
After using Aluminium key and using the valve a dog spawns. There is yet another omega symbol Ω on the wall, interact with it to find the yummy can.
Brno Super Shotgun
In the room on the opposite side of the valve you just used (secret #6) there is a crack on the wall. Simply destroy the crack.
Armor
Immediately after using the elevator, go to the right. You will be met with a single Skapuci soldier, kill him and notice this rust-leaking vent on the wall. Interact with it to open a passage.
Lightning Gun
Continue down the vent in secret #8. Before dropping down you will need to hug wall on the left side while falling down to reach the secret area.

E2M2 Map

E2M3: Velhartice

Map information

Number of secrets: 6

Weapons to be found:

Hussite Crossbow( secret #3)
Ball Lightning Launcher (secret #4)
Pistol (secret #5)

Level specific achievements

Achievement: Headsman

Kill Headsman in air during jump
Hint: This level makes it easy to get the achievement due to amount of those jumpy enemies, particularly on stairs.

E2M3 Secrets

Calvaria of Čáslav
There is a interactable wall behind the second from left diggable grave on the left side of the church. Inside you can find Calvaria of Čáslav bonus and a single rat.
Koruna coins
When inside the crypt, there is a passage right above stairs you can reach by run-jumping into it.
Hussite Crossbow
After triggering the headsmen enemies, not too far from previous secret #2 there is a crack in a wall in newly opened section, break it and go inside.
Ball Lightning Launcher
There is a flick-able brick from the side of the stairs that opens a secret passage close to the aluminium key. Marked green on the map for clarity.
Pistol
When you pull the small lever in the water area, wait for the platform to reach the bottom. At the bottom of the water you can find yet another cracked wall, destroy it to find second pistol
Cans of Blood & Fat
In the shed with aggressive vehicle, there are two coffins. Destroy those and interact with wall behind find the cans.

E2M3 Map

E2M4: Factory Farm

This level contains 6 secrets in total.

Map

Secrets

1. Armor
Immediately at the start of the level there is a interactable rusty wall to your right. Just interact with the wall to find armor.
2. Second pistol
In the darker area containing Sulfiric Acid (kyselina sírová) that you unlock with the first Aluminium key there is a metal fence and an area with pipes you can't enter. On the top right side of the fence you can spot a button, press it to unlock a secret passage to that place.
3. Lightning Gun
After destroying electricity box throughout another fence to open the door that were closed, another area unlocks on the opposite side of the door. There is an interactable wall you can touch to find a lightning gun.
4. Hussite Hand Cannon
Before raising the water level you can notice a different looking spot on the wall that can be interacted with. You need to raise the water level by using the valve first, then you can reach the area with the secret.
5. Explosives ammo
In the area with cranes there is a secret area behind a small interactable wall.
Before you move the second crane using the second button on the elevate platform, jump on the wooden box the crane is holding and then towards a wall while interacting with it. It will open and you will find an explosives ammo there.
6. 1 Koruna coins
In the room with End Level button there is a crack in the wall behind a red metal plate. Break the wall to find the coins.

E2M5: Kašperk

This level contains 8 secrets in total and lots of tasty canned poultry. Yum!

Map

Achievement: Red Wine

In the area where you pick up a Horse key you can find 3 bottles of wine. Drink all of them quickly to get the achievement. Bottles can be found in the green spot marked area in the map.

Achievement: Tunnel

You get this achievement for finding the secret level.

Secrets

1. Tasty Canned Poultry 1
Immediately at the start of the level there is a interactable bloodied wall right behind the first enemy. Just interact with the wall to find tasty canned poultry.
2. Tasty Canned Poultry 2 and Backpack
After going out on the fresh air the first time, there are some barrels under a roof. Next to the barrels there is an interactable wall. You can find TCP and Backpack there.
3. Koruna coins
Right after entering the castle on the small bridge you lifted, there is a hidden button in the right corner, it opens up a secret area.
4. Tasty Canned Poultry 3
While in the castle there is an area where you can go to an open area, or to one of the doors. Go to the right door, there will be a window and a crossbow. In corner of the room to the right of the window you can interact with a wall to find yet some more TCP!
5. Koruna coins
Following the entry area of secret #3, go to the other (left) door. Right after that go immediately to the left. After a short corridor you should see somewhat protruding wall, interact with it to open it.
You need to use the stairs to jump there.
6. Crossbow
Continuing the area from secret #4, you will see a small podium like thingy in the corner. Take a chair to jump to it. You can interact with a wall there to find a crossbow.
7. Koruna coin, Lightning Gun, Arrows
When fighting the three horsemen, the leftmost entrance has a secret passage behind an interactable wall.
8. Second Pistol
After using Aluminium key to get entrance to the tower and leaving this tower there is a interactable spot on the long wall.

Tunnel (Secret Level)

Kašperk level allows you to find an entrance to one of the secret side levels.

If you want to find it you need to disable a circuit breaker on the stairs down towards the end of the level.
Both entrance and circuit breaker are marked as blue dot on the map.

When found, this level is basically kill all enemies and get to the end in one piece.

E2MS: Tunnel

This bonus level contains no special secrets, but is a good way to obtain Not a scratch achievement due to it's short length and few enemies.

Achievement: Not a scrach

Just finish the level without getting hurt.

E2M6: Dobrošov Fortress

This level contains 5 secrets in total.

Map

Secrets

1. Tasty Canned Poultry

To the opposite side of the secret corridor there is a button hidden in the corner. Use it and it will open the passage.
2. More Tasty Canned Poultry!
Don't leave secret #1 yet, go further and interact with the wall at the end of the corridor you just opened, it will reveal even more tasty canned poultry.
3. Bottle of Wine
In the room with the chalk art of a lady you need to use a button hidden behind the bed next to the art. Just destroy the bed to find the button.
4. 5 Koruna
At the drainage adit you can find a secret corridor that opens if you use a button in front of the drainage adit.
It's hidden on the wooden support plank.
5. Hidden corridor with a skull
After you fail to open a gate with rusty key, there will be a rusty grating "bridge" that will fall apart, preventing you from going to the other side. This is the secret passage. You can use hussite hand-cannon to rocket jump yourself there by sacrificing a bit of health.

Notes: I assume there might be an solution without having to use rocket jump for this.
It's either a good jump (I couldn't do that).
Or it has something to do with a flickable protruding brick to the right of the lady art in the same room as secret #3 that did nothing on the map for me otherwise.
Or maybe the Bottle of Wine is relevant.

I really have no idea. If you figure this out, let me know in the comments and I will update it.

E2M7: The Granny's Valley

This level contains 9 secrets in total and collectible plates.

Map

Achievement: Bees

In front of the houses, there are beehives. Destroy them and get rid of the bees attacking you.
Bees don't like water.

Achievement: Cuckoo

Wait for any full hour (e.g. 12:00) for cuckoo to come out of the grandmother's clock to announce the full hour has passed.
In a rush? Hint: The time on the clock is based off your system time.

Achievement: Original Plates

You have to collect all 8 original plates and bring them to the last level of episode 2 The Degustation. There you need to put them to the table in middle of the room.

Location of the plate is sometimes identical to a secret location, otherwise separate plates are marked by a green dot.

Original plates locations:

1. Secret #1
2. In the small water area by the houses in a paper box, you need to destroy it.
3. Secret #2
4. Secret #3
5. Secret #3 after interacting with another brick.
6. In the house with "The Grandmother" book.
7. In the same house, in another room there is a wardrobe, open it.
8. To the left of the "End Level" button.

Secrets

1. Original plate
In the left most house there is a interactable wall that opens a hidden passage right behind the horse key.
2. Original plate
After opening the gate in the water and using horse key to open the lock, there is another wooden door to be opened. While in the water, there is a small window you can shoot a hidden electric panel that opens this wooden door.
The electric panel location (window to see it through) is indicated by a yellow dot.
3. Secret area
This area contains two original plates and a crossbow. It's very dificult to find, but to the right of the valve that gets granny to spook you, there is a brown protruding brick that opens the locked door. This opens an area with a single enemy and one plate. In this area there is one more protruding brick that opens a small passage to another plate.
Bricks are indicated by blue dots.
4.Omega symbol
While in the cavern underground, you can walk over a plank. In corner of the wall on the other side of the plank there is an omega symbol on the wall. Interact with it here to find a medal.
5. Pioneer of Socialism
When falling down the toilet if you hug the front+right of the passage down (and maybe even jump to help it) you can land on a elevated rock that leads to Pioneer of Socialism bonus.
6. Lightning Gun
After falling down the toilet you can see a crack in the wall. Destroy it to find a secret lightning gun.
7. Bottle of Wine
Interact with a wall in the pithole with a snake.
8. Calvaria of Čáslav
After you drop down to a watered down area, there is a corridor you can jump to to find Calvaria of Čáslav.
9. Double bonus
After fighting lots of enemies in the area around the fancy house, there is a electric panel that opens a passage in the water area right in front of the house area. Destroy the panel to unblock the pasage.
The electric panel location is indicated by a yellow dot.

E2M8: The Degustation

This level contains no special secrets, but two achievements that are not really missable unless you did all you need for them.

Achievement: Original Plates

You have to collect all 8 original plates in level The Granny's Valley and bring them to the this level. Here you need to put them to the table in middle of the room.

Achievement: Viscera Cleanup

Oh no, look at all this mess you've made! Clean it with the mop.

Achievement: Cauliflower brain

Rocket jumping is a reference to quake, yea you could rocket jump in halo as well. But it wasn't really mandatory.

I believe the secret skull in E2M6 that you can only get by rocket-jumping is a reference to Halo.

Kinda wish the spoiler tags weren't there. I don't have a problem with keeping things from being spoiled, but I'd like to use steam overlay's pin function so I wouldn't have to open the overlay constantly to read the guide, but I can't do that because of the tags.

@simon.tomek: I have checked E2M2 and secret #9 is indeed a Lightning Gun. It probably got changed with some patch.

For some reason, all the secrets that should contain the ball lightning launcher just have the lightning gun instead... Am I doing something wrong? Are there changes based on difficulty? Thanks in advance for the help.

E2M6 - Secret #5 also has an active landmine just around the corner of that hallway, so it kind of seems like a FU to the player.

I used the motorcycle from the cargo container at the end of the level to help make the jump by driving it all the way down there and leaving it on the very last "square" of the platform that is slightly depressed before the pit. It gives a small height boost but you still have to rocket-jump or something - blowing up the bike in the process. I don't think this is any more of an intended solution than just rocket-jumping though; I mostly just thought I was being clever trying to use the bike. Maybe there's something else you could stack the bike on top of or stack on top of the bike, but probably not worth it.

the secret skull in the fortress level is the worst secret in the game imo. launching yourself with the hand cannon is so inconsistent
