Fine tuned ALL aspects of how everything feels.
Added specific suspension "tuning" to ALL scs trucks as well as several modded trucks.
weakened brakes, turn grip and slightly increased forward grip
made engine rotational mass heavier
made cab and wheels heavier.
Decreased turning radius

Overhaul of the physics to make for a much more realistic experience. No more F1 engine rev's or the impression of a lightened flywheel. Rev's take time to build, and time to settle. No more hit the brakes and stop on a dime. This is a 80k+ pound vehicle, not a smart car. Cornering to closer to the real thing, so you CAN roll over even on a straight road if you swerve too aggressively. Tire's will slip on wet or dirt roads with heavy loads and only 1 axle powered going up hill. How much depends on what kind of wheels, what kind of surface and how many powered axles there are. Truck will also lean around corners, but not so much as to look unrealistic. Driver's seat has been adjusted to "feel" more like an air seat, not a park bench. Wind resistance has been adjusted so getting to 80 mph+ will take some power, and the lowest HP trucks with a load will struggle to hold 55 mph. I am always improving this mod, and open to ideas from real world truckers on how I can fine tune this to make it even better.

*NOTE*

For the steering wheel itself, how "twitchy" you want it is purely up to you, but I try to emulate a truck by turning sensitivity within the steering wheel control panel (I use the Logitech G920) to about 10%, and have the ingame settings at full right for sensitivity, and full left for non-linearity.

I find that this give the truck a "sluggish" feel without being too excessive. Although if you're used to it being set "race car" style, it will certainly take some getting used to.

NEW FOR 1.42+

If you find that your steering is sloppy at highway speeds there is a fix for that which I have detailed on my discord server[discord.gg]

Well, there's a few things to consider here. First, what engines mod, if any are you using? This will make a significant difference in your mpg as well, which can be amplified if you use my physics. Secondly, Now that both my discord, and website are up and running, I no longer keep up with updating several locations at the same time, as it isn't very efficient. And Finally, the mod has been made by and tested extensively with real world truck drivers with experiences from local to OTR, heavy to LTL and everything in between, and from 10 - 30+ years of experience. Where I do appreciate your input on making things better, However I would suggest joining the discord where things can more easily be discussed, as well as downloading the latest version from my website, which can be found at www.serialblackmodding.com . Hopefully this helps you out, tas here isn't enough information to fully say more than that.

Is the wind resistance in this mod made for long nose trucks only because the fuel efficiency is way lower then it should be. Real truck drivers report abround 6.5-7 mpg and im getting with a lot of fuel save like 5-5.5 but hitting the numbers almost spot on in vanilla.
Id really love if the drag coefficient would play a roll in the trucks performance.

the 2nd issue ive found are that the brakes are feeling way stronger than in vanilla.
Like in the previous comment in using pedals and a wheel and i am using the sliders like its shown above. Is that how it should be im just wondering.

Dear Mr. Serial Black,

i am using your realistic physics mod for some time and it feels mostly all right.
Im driving with a fanatec wheel, wheelbase (DD2) and pedals (csl elite v2).

i found two issues i was wondering about for some time:

first of all the wind resistance issue:
it feels a little too strong especially for driving an aero truck. those truck are designed to cut through the air and having a significantly lower drag coefficient (around 0.5) then traditional trucks (around 0.8-0.9).
This metric has a significant influence on the wind resistance. Ull find a paper from 1999 behind the link above for prove.

Nothing has changed in the mod for a bit now, there are changes coming but not yet. That being said, things like the engine, what truck your using, transmission and even the calibration of your pedals can alter things slightly.

i don't know if the mod changed this or not but the truck feels very light going down hill or coming to a stop i don't even have to use my brakes sometimes going down a hill, my truck does not have a retarder. am i doing something wrong?

@Serialblack Thank you very much. Good luck with the irl stuff.
