Some Card, Skill Synergies
Tekijältä kw142 (Lie in Mid-July)
This is by no means a comprehensive guide. Just want to share some synergies, playstyles, and random tips. Everything is based on game version 1.5 (12/30/2020 build).

Introduction
Since there is almost no guides for this game on steam at the moment, I want to share some of the strong synergies. Hopefully this helps other players to clear runs easier or find new ways to have fun in the game.

Not comprehensive. This game has countless ways to build your deck based on what cards you have and what skills you unlocked. I am learning new synergies all the time, and there are other great synergies I have not listed. Feel free to share other strong combos or tips in the comment if you wish!

Naya, Stealth + Overload + Pandora/Plan B
Unlike Claire, who has vampric attack to steal hp, or Helena, who has a million ways to get armor because of Griffin and her unique skills, I have always found it hard to sustain Naya's hp--until I learned how strong stealth is and this combo.

When you have stealth, you are immune to hp damage. You take no damage from consuming Overload with stealth status. Combine with Naya's unique skill Pandora or common skill Plan B, you actually gain health because Overload is a hindrance card. Evolved Pandora skill combined with Plan B will give you 3 hp per Overload card.
Naya, Jab Jab + Clone Project
This combo literally destroys early mobs in one turn and most of later enemies and bosses in 1-3 turns. You get 10 forces and 60 damage for 3 cost.

Clone Jab Jab card with Clone Project card. Then you get 5 Jab Jab cards which give you 2*5 = 10 force and 2*2 + 4*2 + 6*2 + 8*2 + 10*2 = 60 damages. Even if the enemy did not die after 60 damage. With the 10 force, combined with other multi-shot attacks, you obliterate the enemies in a turn or two.
Naya, Reserved + Clone Project + Energy Module
In the last section, we used Clone Project with Jab Jab. Now we use it with Reserved, giving you 5 free uses of an item. Clone Project just has insane potential because of how unique it is with card duplication ability.

Clone Reserved card with Clone Project card. Then you get 5 Reserved cards which give you 5 free uses of items. If you use it with Energy Module, you can potentially get 5*5 25 cards to become 0 cost. Use one Reserved card, then use your first energy module to make the other 4 Reserved card 0 cost. This way you spent 4 mana for potentially making 25 cards 0 cost (including the 4 Reserved cards).
Naya, Radiation Burst Playstyle
Naya can do some insane damage with a radiation burst build. The core of this build is high radiation stack plus cards that do extra damage with radiation stacks.

Quick Ways to Stack Radiation
  • Skills
These two skills passively increase enemies' radiation stacks as battle goes on. I consider these two as high-priority skills for Naya.
  • Gear
Pretty strong gear for Naya, also looks very cool. Naya has a lot of multi-shot shooting skill; each separate attack applies a new stack, meaning a 1X5 Automatic Shot will apply 5 new stacks.
  • Cards
When you close your eyes card applies stack very quickly to all enemies if you deck is heavy on instant cards. Naya's instant cards are all pretty strong with stealth, shuffling, enemies debuffs. When I build Naya deck, I tend to just have a lot of instant cards (purple cards) and almost no constant cards (yellow cards).
Accelerated Radioactivity doubles radioactivity on enemy, and more importantly, has 0 cost when evolved, pretty strong too.
These two constant cards also provide decent passive radiation generation to all enemies. Good to pick them up.

There are many other ways to stack radiation for Naya; I am just listing the ones that I think are the quickest here.

Burst Cards That Scales off Radiation
This is the exciting part where big damage numbers show up! The first card Split Hit can do some decent damage single-target, whereas the other two cards does damage to all enemies. Final Attack can easily net you over 100 damage to all enemies: assume three enemies with 10 radiation stack, and you have a combo double-attack bonus, 3*10*2*2= 120 to each of the enemies! And 10 stack is pretty low in my experience, usually the stacks go above 20 in my runs.
Claire, Punishment Burst Playstyle
Punishment is a unique mechanic for Claire. Just like radiation build for Naya, a punishment build for Claire can also do a huge amount of burst damage. The core of this build is high punishment stacks and cards that do damage scale off punishment.

Quick Ways to Stack Punishment
  • Skills
Generous Judgment skill gives Claire 2 punishment if Claire has faith at the beginning of the turn. This value doubles to 4 when evolved. This skill is pretty nice, since Claire is likely to have some faith through the majority of the battle since so many of her cards and skills gives faith. It is almost unavoidable for Claire to not gain faith.
Bring It skill gives you punishment at the beginning of every turn if you have no armor, which happens a lot in later battles unless if your deck stacks armor. When I play Claire, I use little defend cards and mainly use vampric to leech health back up, so this triggers a lot.
  • Cards
Blade of Revenge card is very strong when evolved because it has ZERO cost. If you have it in your hand, just use it at the end of the turn or use it to fit your combo. 0 cost, free punishment.
Accumulated Rage is what makes this build easily do above 100 damage in one turn. In short battles you can easily stack above 20 punishment from this card, and in long ones, especially for the final boss, I have gotten over 150 punishment stacks from this card. And when evolved, you can use it twice because it gains recycled keyword.
Not much to say about Divine Rage, it doubles your current punishment. Very Strong when you have high stacks of punishment.
These constant cards provide passive punishment generation as battle goes on. They are useful and strong in most battles. Although I preferred to use little constant cards since some of the elite monsters and bosses remove buffs from the player, I hate it when all my buffs just suddenly go away and I spent all those manas for little return.
Other Less Efficient Ways to Stack Punishment
I am listing other ways to gain punishment here. I consider these methods to be either too slow, require some conditions that are not easily met, or just have better alternatives. Just my opinions though, feel free to use them. Thorn Whip card is still pretty good for providing vampric and faith, not just for punishment though.
Cards That Help Stacking Punishment
These two cards can stop punishment from activating for one turn. This helps you stack higher or aim for a precision kill. I like taking Silence when I see it, though Chatisement is a little high-cost when not evolved (3 cost) in my opinion.
Burst Cards That Scales off Punishment
You have high stacks of punishment; time to release some high burst damage even before enemies attack you! Family Foe and Repentence does single target damage, whereas Cruel Battle hits all. Repentence also multiplies your faith with your punishment, so when you have 4 faith, 30 punishment, 4*30 = 120 damage! Cruel Battle even has absorption keyword when evolved, meaning you can potentially use it 0-cost!

Other insane cards are mission impossible for the summoner who can build up massive defense to absorb its damage, the damage to all enemies based on remaining mana when used with save mana, plus another card (for all characters) based on cards in draw pile. The summoner also had a card that goes down in cost after every use so eventually does 6 damage for 0 cost every time.
Clair has a card that does 2 or 3 damage for no mana cost providing she has faith.

Naya has a card which is insanely good but it only has spawned for me once, its an instant card that adds radioactive to all enemies based on amount of instant cards in deck, so e.g. if 13 instant cards all enemies get 13 radioactive, I had 2 in one hand, but then never ever seen it again. :(

For Helena, "Excellent Choice" skill (to start the game with 5 instants) with an instant heavy deck can lead to some explosive starts with the dragon. Ex. Fire Dragon's Assault, upgraded Honed Chain, Random Power (preferably upgraded), Immunizing Agent, Neutralize etc.To note, my Helena playthroughs start with using mainly the griffin, but I recently got through Hunter Mode with the strategy above
