DIY Book

This is more of an opportunity for you to get something you designed in the game, even if you have no freaking clue how to use any 3d software.

The game object I've provided is what it is - a nice leather journal-looking thing, about 300 tris - but I'm more interested to see what you do.

No need to hit the subscribe button - or anything like that.

If you want to try this, I'm linking a few files here[drive.google.com]. You'll find an .obj (object) file, .mtl (material) file and a texture file (the .png). Download them somewhere.

There's also a .blend file for those of you who want to try out using Blender (it was saved in version 2.910, so make sure you have that release or higher) but getting Blender or downloading the .blend file is not necessary. However, if you do have Blender, the textures for this upload should be embedded in the .blend file, so the object should appear as it is in the second image.

Really the idea here is for you to create your own books to place in custom dreams by editing the (Book_Tex.png) texture file provided. Obviously, you'll need to use an image editor like Photoshop or Gimp or Paint or whatever. But, it doesn't matter what you use. More instructions appear in the Book_Tex.png file itself. The book jacket is unwrapped like a candy wrapper.

If it doesn't make any sense, ask away - there are no stupid questions.

But the sky's the limit - GIS a book jacket and line it up with the texture - or design your own.

Send me screen captures of any books you've done! I'll add them as workshop images. It also goes without saying that you can feel free to use this model as you see fit, remix or adapt it, upload again. I really don't care - just have fun. : D
