Buchenhain, Commercial building

描述
Buchenhain, Commercial building

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--- Important explanations for handling in the lower part of the description ---
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Four-storey commercial/office building with basement floors. The passage and the main staircase divide the building into three parts. On the ground floor there are shops with the orientation travel needs. In addition, entrances and exits for the building's internal underground car park. There are offices on the upper floors. On the back of the building there are balconies on the upper floor with glass elements. The building has two basement floors on slopes. Storage rooms and the underground car park are located here.

It is an own architectural design. It is inspired by current office buildings from Paderborn. The office and commercial building as well as the multi-storey car park should achieve homogeneity through repeated color and material choices in their respective individuality.

My motivation was to create a suitable, authentic infrastructure for a train station in a recessed level. The location between several commercial and industrial areas makes commercial building use plausible. A train station makes the creation of shops with the orientation to travel needs (bakery, kiosk, groceries, drugstore) useful. Also located at the end of a motorway, there is demand for parking spaces for commuters at. What the need for a parking garage results from. To save space, the multi-storey car park hovers over the tracks.

Thank you SvenBerlin and Titan for technical assistance, especially to enable the building to float. SvenBerlin, thank you very much for bringing in individual parts of the texture and making final recommendations for corrections.

Handling

Usually the assets published in the workshop form soil. However, in order to enable the representation of basement floors in a building located on the edge of a slope, one of the things required is a so-called "Nobaseshader". This assumes that the entire asset must be created above the 0 level. Thus, the basement floors, which in reality are below the surface, are above the surface. Therefore, the asset has to be lowered by actually 12.0 m with the aid of the MOD “Move It” in order to bring it into a realistic ground level.

The asset can be used both on a slope edge (with the formation of the basement floors) and on a flat surface (see screenshots).

Thank you for your interest @CitesSkyliners. This building was highly innovative at the time. Even today, it's still one of the very few buildings with textured basements.
By moving and placing them with MoveIt, you can really emphasize the buildings. MoveIt is one of the standard or basic mods used by everyone who has spent any time with Cities Skylines.

Okay could you somehow remove the need for move it? We already have the JPEH buildings.

I love this and the parking garage. I've been subscribed to them for months but never got around to placing them. But last night I did place them and was blown away by their design and usefulness for my city. I really love the fact that I can put a path through the commercial building for my CIMs to walk through to the other side. Awesome designs!
