so are the flares/horizons supposed to just sit on the chest/storage in the middle? its broken again if not. that or sandbox mode just breaks things.

Well, then you need more resources coming to your core :p

This is really cool for a surge prod base, though I find I've got to include some sort of on/off logic as it will deplete all your resources.

Processors will tell units to give resources to the central chest. As long as your have enough flares and horizons, and as long as you have enough lead copper titanium and silicon in your core, put this design were you want, and the robots (flares and horizonsà will transport the resources.
