L4D1 already had a ending with them literally riding off into the sunset, Sacrifice is like a sequel to a movie that didn't need one. it brings back fan favorite characters just to have them act differently and then kill one off for a cheap emotional blow. So yeah I suppose it is like a current day hollywood movie

Well, i personally wouldn't say they ruined it, i personally quite like the Sacrifice's ending, Bill sacrifices himself to save the other 3, and they leave on a sailboat to a deserted island where the infected can't get them.
It's a positive note with a twist, something most movies do, specially stuff like survival movies or zombie movies, which ties in nicely with Valve making L4D feel like a film.

Now that i'm really thinking about it, if someone were to remove all the traces of the Sacrifice from the L4D series, L4D1 and L4D2's endings would be extremely matching. Both ambiguous, and we wouldn't know what happened to the survivors after Blood Harvest and The Parish.
...And L4D1's campaign selection would be pretty much how it was on release, only exception being Crash Course.

Personally I dont take the sacrifice comic as canon, its more like bad fanfiction with all the characters acting nothing like their in-game counterparts all taking place on a reused map.

Shouldn't his beard be bigger, like in the photo seen in Bill's footlocker in the Sacrifice comic?
