描述
Plan the scenic San Diego Trolley and extend light rail service across the region.

-

Rail transit in San Diego can trace its roots back to the late 19th century and the streetcars of the San Diego Electric Railway. With the rise of the automobile in the mid-20th century, streetcar systems across the country fell out of favor and were replaced with cars and buses, but over time, shifts in technology and culture saw the emergence of a second generation of light rail. Entering service in 1981, the San Diego Trolley is heralded as the first of this new generation in the US (though not the first in North America, with Edmonton establishing its own light rail three years prior).

Currently, the Trolley operates 4 primary lines serving 62 stations: the South Line (later renamed the North-South Line, now the Blue Line) opening in 1981, the East Line (now the Orange Line) in 1986, the Green Line in 2005, and the Copper Line in 2024. Future plans for the Trolley may include a connecting line to the San Diego International Airport, or a proposed fifth route designated as the Purple Line. North San Diego County has its own light rail line, the SPRINTER, serving 15 stations. Combined, San Diego's light rail services over 130,000 riders per day.

Some vintage streetcars of the Electric Railway have been restored for use on the Silver Line, a limited-service downtown loop opening in 2011, functioning as a tourist attraction and a living landmark of the city's heritage. The city has also operated a temporary Red Line (now the Special Event Line) to service high-traffic events like San Diego Comic-Con. The vintage streetcar and the modern trolley alike have become iconic pieces of the city's history.

-

Features
- Extend San Diego's light rail network along the coastline and further inland to the suburbs, using up to 6 lines.
- Connect to 2 permanent lines: the Silver Line, a small loop that uses an old-fashioned streetcar, and the COASTER, a commuter rail that brings passengers in from further north. With these lines, you'll be starting off with extra stations, some of which won't be immediately accessible.
- While the real-life Trolley doesn't cross water, a few bridges will be provided if you need to extend a line across San Diego Bay or Mission Bay. Mind the gap!

Achievements
- Compass: Deliver 600 passengers in San Diego.
- Gaslamp & Electric: Deliver 1600 passengers in San Diego using no loops other than the Silver Line.
- Stay classy: Reach week nine in San Diego.

Most important line: going to the convention center.

Lots of fun on this map,and clearly some thought went into the mechanisms of the different lines.
Bug: When clearing milestones in endless, I still get offered new metros even if my lines have no more capacity for adding them.
Observation: On my display, with my glasses, I can no longer discern the shapes in the endgame. Too big a map, too small the shapes.
Still, thank you for making this!

Can't get it to open, is it no longer working?

I was hoping for a San Diego map (am a new player, but also a San Diego Metro Transit driver.)

Fun fact not mentioned in the writeup: the station at the southern end of the Blue Line serves the San Ysidro border crossing, which is one of the busiest land border crossings in the world; the Trolley station is next door to the pedestrian border checkpoint.

I love the added element of two very different established lines that you can't edit.

Thanks for the map!

Adorable map.
I find annoying playing maps with no chance to create a system before seeing it fail: maps where the population boom predates the unlocking of the city's potential lines and trains. Maps, to cut it short, where you have no time to play.
San Diego is the opposite: a long playing record versus a MP3.
Thank you very much.

Thanks for your map AND the background story.
