The Renegade

While the Ultimate Warrior was on a lengthy hiatus from the WWF, Hulk Hogan teased the character's return to wrestling in WCW. Hogan stood in front of a silhouette that looked much like his former rival, only to reveal The Renegade.

The Renegade, with Jimmy Hart at his side, started off his career on a winning streak and captured the WCW World Television title from Arn Anderson. His momentum came to a screeching halt after a few months, and after a few losses, Hart threw water in his client's face and called him a nobody.

The Renegade came back several months later without the facepaint and began to transition his look towards more of a tribal appearance than that of a Warrior clone. He served often as an enhancement talent for the rest of his WCW run and wrestled mostly on minor shows.

The man behind the gimmick, Rick Wilson, passed away in 1999.
