Creates a new strategic resource "Manpower" that is created by certain military buildings and wonders and is needed by all military units.

Thereby limiting the total # of units a civilization can build.
You can change the amount of Manpower given by each building in the mod folder if the total number is too large or small.

This was created specifically to accomplish two things:
1) speed up the AI during turns, less movement means less computation for the AI.
2) reducethe amount of unit management for the player.


To compensate for fewer units land units are given:
+35% Defense to make units last longer.
(Was going to incease hitpoints to 150 for each unit, but encountered a bug where melee units couldn't attack if a unit lost more than 100 hitpoints)


What you can do with this:
Have faster turns.
Trade Manpower for economic benefits.
Trade economy for a advantage in numbers.
You can make an AI dependant on you for Manpower support( since units have a reduced combat strength when lacking thier strategic resource).
Focus on strategy rather than overwhelming unit walls in war.

For balance:
+Increased unit maintenenace for all units as you progress in era.

Unit Supply from population is unchanged.

hi! i love this mod and thank you for all the work you do but how do i apply it to other modded units such as the combat engineer or medic infantry mods? i tried to simply enter the unit names in the manpower xml file but it does not work in game? any help is appreciated thanksss

Great concept, just need to reduce manpower per building and increase manpower cost for later units. Wish someone would create a guerrilla unit that can attack without starting a war, same for pirate ships

I working on a SQL code to try and assign 1 manpower to certain units that show up. Right now I have to individually add manpower to each unit.

Can you make this mod compatible with modded Civ's with their unique units? Because if I run out of manpower, I can just spam and mass-produce unique units. The A.I does that as well.

Ya, I'm making some changes at the moment. First play through there was an obscence amount of extra units. I'll go ahead and upload version 2, even though it hasn't been playtested yet. I've changed the amount of units you get per building. Haven't touched the units yet.

Alright. like this mod, honestly I REALLY do, but I've found that even in like the reinissaunce age I can overwhelm enemies with men even with the hard cap. I think that maybe an increase in the cost of units more, even in the earlier ages. I dunno, its just my view on things. Like i said, I really like this mod but I think its gonna need some changed before you can really feel the effect. The hard cap with manpower just feels like the "cap" you reach with your income vs. military.
