Class description
Submarines (SSN) are nuclear powered vessels designed for anti-ship and anti-sub operations. The class varies from small drones to large vessels. Being relatively underpowered for their cost, they rely on their immunity against most weapon systems for survival.

The ship
The SSN Vortex class medium attack submarine is a submarine aimed at taking on foes in a higher threat environment than the Orka class. Carrying superior offensive firepower (10 forward M tubes and 4x4S aft tubes), a light AA missile system (fireable under 30 meters depth) and active defenses mean that the Vortex will outlast the Orka in many situations. Carrying a more powerful nuclear powerplant means higher sustainable and maximum speeds. The Vortex is in all regards an improvement over the Orka. To make life aboard easier, the periscope is fully automated, and the AI will be able to handle the sub under most circumstances.

Controls:
The AI will be able to control this vessel, more dynamic operations are possible with human control. First, turn off the AI movement.

T+G provide main power. 50% power gives a stable power consumption, anything above it slowly drains the batteries.

O+L provide depth control. 100% gives a positive bouyancy resulting in the vessel surfacing. -100% provides a slight negative bouyancy. Around 0% gives a near 0 m/s vertical speed when under power.

Y+I provides yaw authority

Note: Engines at maximum will drain the batteries. Max sustainable thrust level is 80%. Use higher levels when needed (batteries will last a while).
