Otumoetai Intermediate (Yellow) DXC 5460

Otumoetai Intermediate is the 2nd of three schools I have been unfortunate enough to go to over the years. I sound so old saying that, even though I'm only 20.

Anyway, O.T.I. was the school I attended in 2012 and 2013 (in other words, for Years 7 & 8). It's a school here in Tauranga that - fortunately, for me - is located just across the road from the East Coast Main Trunk railway. I spent many a time filming trains after school while waiting for the bus.

This colour scheme represents one of two uniform variants at the school; specifically the physical education or P.E. variant. And when I say Physical, I am - in no way - referring to that song from Olivia Newton-John. Well, I say it's hers, but she didn't write it nor play any instruments (just like Belinda Carlisle).

As is the case with most of my DX re-skins, this one continues the tradition of carrying the number of a real DX locomotive. In this case, the represented engine is DXC 5460. This engine was built by General Electric in 1976, originally numbered as DX 2644. She was re-numbered as DX 5460 in 1978, and is still in service with KiwiRail today.
