This mining rail-driven vehicle is a one axis only small-grid miner designed for tunnel boring.
It utilizes the 1x1x1 Large-grid Armor block as a guide rail. I advise using armor ramps as shown in the picture so that the vehicle doesn't topple over to the side..

If you really want to you can move the rail wheels more outwards, but I just use a few gyroscopes and some atmospheric trusters to compensate. There are 15 drills on the rotor arm: 8 pointing forwards and 7 to the side downwards. The Rotor spins counter-clockwise while drilling.
