Pat Patterson

Pat Patterson was a WWE Hall of Fame wrestler who spent years with the company after his in-ring retirement as an agent, producer, consultant, and occasional on-screen talent.

Patterson started wrestling in 1958 in his native Quebec before making his way into the US in 1962. He wrestled for Big Time Wrestling and Pacific Northwest Wrestling before debuting in the WWF in 1979.

In the WWF, Patterson quickly won the WWF North American title before becoming the inaugural Intercontinental Champion by winning a fictional tournament supposedly held in Rio de Janeiro.

Patterson is credited as the creator of the Royal Rumble match as well as being the first gay wrestling star. His career in wrestling was also marked by controversy - he was accused of molesting underage males working on the ring crew as well as multiple instances of sexual harassment.
