Victory theme is Jack a Dandy from the Guilty Gear Xrd OST

Vlad, the suave brawler, has arrived to bring some sophisticated fisticuffs to Rivals of Aether. Vlad is a bruiser with unique movement and and nearly infinite combo potential. Make use of his powerful ground tools and unique blood mechanics to really bring the pain.

Nspecial: Sanguine step
-------------------------------------------------------


Sanguine step is Vlad's unique bait-and-punish tool. With no follow up, Vlad will simply lunge backwards, then forwards. The initial backstep does have some I-frames to bait and avoid an opponents attack,

Follow up (with attack): Bat Buster
--------------------------------------------------------


Bat buster is an incredibly powerful lunging punch that makes for a perfect followup against a whiffed attack. High damage and knockback make it great for scoring KOs.

Follow up (with special): Crimson Heel
--------------------------------------------------------


Crimson heel is a two part flip kick that launches enemies into the air for an air combo opportunity.

Fspecial: Night rush/Eviscerate

Night rush is a fast forward dash that has I-frames just as Vlad starts to become intangible. Pressing special before the attack ends makes Vlad instantly stop and turn around for a short range grab. If he lands this grab, he will violently rip the blood out of his opponent and send them flying. But be careful, whiffing this grab leaves you wide open.

Dspecial: Midnight Feast

Midnight feast is a short range grab that, when landed, has Vlad drain the blood of his opponent. This attack also heals Vlad for 5% if it lands. If it whiffs, you're left wide open to a counter attack.

Uspecial: Dark Passage

Dark passage is a long range teleport that can go in any direction.

Unique Resource: Blood
-------------------------------------------------------
Blood is what makes Vlad's kit mesh together into something special. Blood can be gained normally through giving and taking damage. However, Vlad will gain significantly more Blood for landing the following attacks: Dspecial, Fspecial, Ustrong. Half of your current Blood is lost upon being KO'd.

Vlad can also spend his Blood to do several unique attacks and abilities.

Ftilt: Blood Scythe

Blood scythe is Vlad's only projectile attack. In lieu of a traditional tilt attack, Blood scythe has Vlad toss a slow moving spinning scythe of Blood that hits multiple times and pulls any opponents hit into it's center. This attack will fail if Vlad does not have a sufficient amount of Blood.

Blood cancels

Blood cancels are the most unique part of Vlad's kit. As long as you have at least half of your Blood meter filled (indicated by having a red dot on your HUD), at any point during any attack, pressing the "shield" button will have Vlad immediately cancel whatever move he is performing and return to a neutral state. If an enemy is nearby when Vlad preforms a Blood cancel, they will briefly locked in place, allowing Vlad to perform any followup you want. Vlad can have a total of 2 Blood cancels available.

Super move: Blood Punch
-------------------------------------------------------


Blood punch is Vlad's ultimate and strongest move by far. Performed by pressing ATTACK + SPECIAL when the Blood meter is flashing, Vlad will slow time to a crawl and deliver a powerful punch. If it lands, Vlad will charge up the Blood punch and unleash it for massive damage and knockback. Using this attack consumes all of your blood, whether it hits or not.
