USS Forrestal CVA-59

The first supercarrier of the United States, at the time the largest carrier ever built and the first designed to accomodate jet aircraft. The Forrestal experienced a busy career spanning 38 years, during which she was upgraded and improved multiple times, leading many innovations in technology before being removed from service in 1993 and ultimately scrapped in 2015.
