The Demon

Cross promotion has been around in wrestling for decades, and there are numerous examples from WCW in the 90's. The Demon gimmick was inspired by the rock band KISS, especially lead singer Gene Simmons.

Brian Adams was initially set to be the man behind the facepaint, but after Adams was uncomfortable filling the role, former baseball player Dale Torborg took over the gimmick. The plan was to introduce an entire KISS stable, but the plan was derailed when Eric Bischoff left WCW in 1999.

The Demon joined forces with Vampiro and the ICP as part of The Dark Carnival before turning on Vampiro to lead to a brief feud.

After WCW closed, Torborg became a strength and conditioning coach in MLB, winning championship rings with the 2003 Marlins and 2005 White Sox. He appeared alongside White Sox catcher AJ Pierzynski in TNA a few times in 2005 and 2007.
