Beskrivelse

Do you feel as if the Damage Numbers that go flying made things feel a little too arcade-like? I did.

Damage numbers are an interesting feature. They're a method of telling your players that they're doing damage to an enemy, while also showing them exactly how much damage they're doing. In some cases, this can even be incredibly useful, such as when you're trying to figure out how much damage all your status buffs are doing combined. But, personally, I've never much liked them.

After all, enemies flash red when they're shot, and there's already a hit particle as well. Why would I need arbitrary numbers shooting everywhere, telling me what I already know? Especially when all enemies in the game have a health bar, which is a more visually appealing way of informing the player that they're actually doing damage?

And so, in true AnomNom fashion, I went ahead and removed them myself. This was originally intended as a personal mod, but I decided to just go ahead and release it anyways - who knows, maybe someone else out there dislikes the Damage Numbers as much as I do. I hope you enjoy!

  • Patman, for assisting in locating and removing the particles, as I did not know how they functioned at the time.

  • Every single one of who, who still continue to subscribe to my mods. Thank you so, so much.

It's seem working for "Vanilla Damage Numbers" but for few of mods it's not doesn't work. But great mod tho :steamthumbsup:

it doesn't work at all with FU, the damage numbers still either appear but different or they're vanilla ones

@Mabra
added support for Starforge

that's one of the main reasons i made this mod - there's four total ways to know you're hitting your enemy. the enemy flashes red, there's a hit indicator that shows up at their center, the damage numbers go flying off, and their health drops on the healthbar. that is way too many indicators when only one or two would suffice.

the beauty of modding is that (almost) everything is now a toggle setting

Some monsters from the starforge mod still make damage numbers appear when attacking.

Its feel weird to battle witouth numbers, but i can take more atention to my health bar and its feel more a real survival thing.

Start with what weapon it is, and what effects the weapon gives when hitting an enemy. Different damage types have different colors for the damage numbers, and mods tend to use their own custom particles for the mod's weapons.

I found a damage type that still seems to display. Any suggestions how I can track it down? I guess I need to find the mod its from / what damage type it is using?

it likely doesn't improve, nor impact, performance. just the same performance as before.

Not sure actually. It doesn't draw them visually, but I'm not certain how long they appear for, if at all.
