Shane Helms competed in WCW as one-third of the boy band stable 3 Count.

The team collectively held the WCW Hardcore title briefly in early 2000 and notably feuded with The Jung Dragons that summer.

Helms won the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against his bandmate Shannon Moore after the two both grabbed the title belt at the same time in a ladder match.

After WCW closed in 2001, Helms signed with the WWF and joined The Alliance. He started wrestling as The Hurricane after the Invasion angle.
