Artificialis - Devonian Collection II

We are proud to announce our newest collection and our second entry into the Age of Fish, the Devonian era. With your help, we can complete our studies and bring back these ancient animals.

The focus of this collection is the Orcadian Basin and the rivers that led from it to the ocean between 400 and 380 million years ago. Lake Orcadie was a desert lake on the Avalonian side of the mountain range that divided Laurentia and Avalon, that played host to numerous species of animals. Today, most of the basin is under the ocean with parts emerging at Scotland’s northern coast. At the time, trees and shrubs were only just beginning to populate the land and mostly were restricted to the riparian zone and wetlands, while fish were undergoing diversification and even taking steps onto land.

The animals we intend to restore will be appropriate for most aquariums, but will be withheld from the least experienced until they’ve proven capable. In addition to observational data sent to us, you’ll also have to attain rank 4 before we’ll make the first animals available.
