Some behind the scenes trivia:
What's cool about this mod is that it uses the original TF2 model with its skeleton in tact. The bones I renamed and realigned without reweighting anything so that he looks exactly as you remember him from TF2. It was a fun project hacking this funky TF2 skeleton to be compatible with what is essentially an older Half Life 2 era skeleton. Now, in the process of making this mod I learned (the hard way) that using the eye shader on special infected means you can't use them online. What is the logic behind this I don't know. And you know, fair enough, I don't need the darn shader for Soldier, his eyes are mostly closed off by the helmet. But the rest of TF2 cast have open faces... Desperation ensued. So what yours truly ended up doing is creating two eye orbs with a material that mimics the look of the regular eye shader and using the wonderful jigglebone technology to make these new eyes response to head movement. All in all, ended up being a lot better than I expected. Just one of these things you have to do when modding for an old Source game! I ended up giving jiggle bones treatment to various other items on Soldiers's body as well.
