Dramatic Ages: Free Wildcard Slot in Dark Ages
When playing Dramatic Ages mode, this mod grants all civilizations in a Dark Age one extra Wildcard policy slot.

Why?
Dramatic Ages mode is fun and exciting, but getting a Dark Age can be devastating. You lose a chunk of your cities all at once and you have a steep upward climb to get back on track. On top of that, any AI in a Dark Age will often get destroyed by other civilizations.

With this mod, the Wildcard policy slot is just enough of a boost to make getting a Dark Age more manageable while keeping it fun and flexible. It also gives you more opportunity to use those exciting Dark Policies!

Compatibility
Compatible with most mods. I recommend using it with my mod Darker Dark Ages for even more fun!

Only active when playing the Dramatic Ages mode.

REQUIRES the Byzantium and Gaul DLC.

Maybe create a version without DLC requirement? since the DLC is playable with only the host owning it:rubberduckhs:

I'm sorry, I don't understand what your problem is. There is no issue when transitioning from a Dark Age to a Golden Age.

i can't change policies when i switch between dark age to golden age, because the free wild card is not accessible in the golden age (bug), sorry for my bad english.

Right. It's not supposed to incentivize going into a Dark Age. It's just supposed to make the Dark Age a little less bitter

wildcard slot is really a buff for dark age civ
but i still dont think anyone will try to not get into gold age
nobody what their city became free city
