Default Pain Pills Use Sound

This mod makes the pain pills use their unused use sound when using them.

It does this by modifying the model to mod back in the modified sound.

Anyway, the original sound was very long, so long in-fact that it didn't make it to the gulping sound before it was cut off by survivor voice lines. So I had to do some editing to get it all in there in the microsecond that it has before it can be interrupted, and of course that sound is included.

It seems the survivor line itself doesn't even cut it off, because there's still a delay before the survivor line, but after the cut off point. So there'll be a slight pause after the sound, but just pretend it's your character getting their bearings back after swallowing an entire bottle of pain pills.


Q: Is this compatible with texture mods (reskins?)
A: I tried to fit this into the thumbnail, but in-case it's hard to read: yes, as long as they're for the default pain pills model. Personally I use this HD/HQ one by Alexander.

Q: What about model replacements (on the default animations)?
A: Unfortunately those won't work. Most model replacements (on the default animations) aren't pills, anyway. They're usually stuff like soda or something, so this sound wouldn't even fit contextually.

Q: What about this RNG pain pills mod?
A: This one in particular also won't work, as it's on a "reborn" version of the pain pills model. If there ever comes a mod that's just a bunch of RNG textures over the default pain pills model, that will work just fine, though.

Q: How is this different from Pain Pills Sound?
A: This sound mod is for a specific animation, and also includes a cap-popping sound to match said animation.

Q: Is this updated for TLS?
A: The pain pills model wasn't touched in TLS update, so it's still the same as it was before (part of the reason why I made this, is because the model in the Starter Kits was still the most up-to-date one, meaning I could easily edit and compile it).
