Festus

Festus and his tag team partner Jesse debuted on Smackdown in 2007. The duo competed in the Smackdown tag division until 2009 when Festus was drafted by Raw.

Festus was portrayed as a dimwitted hillbilly who became aggressive once he heard the opening bell ring.

The Festus character was removed from TV a few months later and the man behind the gimmick, Drew Hankinson, was repackaged as Luke Gallows, a member of the Straight Edge Society.
