OctaHab Model 1 is a relatively low-cost build that is meant as a basic planetary starter base, with life support and living spaces, including beds, refreshers, and cryo chambers, for six (6) players. OctaHab Model 1 includes an O2/H2 generator, an oxygen tank, two basic refineries, a basic assembler, a medical room and hospital beds, and six (6) small cargo containers. Power is supplied by eight (8) batteries that are continuously recharged via 12 wind turbines. Also included is a programmable block containing Isy's Simple Doors script to semi-automate airlock operations. A single base-mounted docking connector is included for resupply. The connector's elevation is height-adjustable using adjacent controls that will make it adaptable to most any vehicle. Deck 4 is vacant to allow expansion based on a player's needs.

The habitat is accessible via an airlock at the base, and all upper surfaces are accessible without the need for a jetpack. The habitat is lightly defended by eight (8) interior turrets at the wind turbine level.
