These are assets - sort of - oddly you will find them in rail depots. There is a reason for this.

I am playing around with ways to implement these so this mod may grow - I won't remove anything.

I have more sets more or less 'ready to go' but want to test reactions before publishing any more.

Right now these signs are implemented as assets - see tech note below explaining why they are in the rail depot menu.

Therefore to use them as they are you really need an empty platform.
Once you have placed a sign click on it and give it a name.

Why an asset and not a station module - because an asset is configurable and has a menu - I can put many different signs on one menu and you can adjust the height to match the platform you are using. Also it doesn't take up a slot id.

There are five different signs in this set.
And four different styles.

To be honest I'm not to happy with the single post mounted style and will probably change it to a lamppost.
Also this one is hard to select once placed - you need to be above it and slightly right move the mouse down and you should find the click point.

Tech Note:
These are in the depot menu because TPF will let you use configurable labels on depots but not on assets.
So the trick is to create an asset but set its type to depot. This lets the labels work but TPF automatically inserts depots in the depot menu. - win some lose some. ;)

Thanks for the reply. My latest use is to put "Danger - watch for Trains" on them for unmanned and unfenced crossing places

This seems to be successful. I'm going to leave it a couple of days and then release the rest - I have 6 sets covering quite a lot of station branding used across the uk.

hi anthony - these use the built in label font that comes with the game there is unfortunately no way to change it. In fact Urban specifically say 'if you do try it will crash the game". You can of course put them anywhere but the boards are the generic station name boards and the design is based on actual metro station ones - hence the name.

Looks good - but forget the "station signs" bit as it appears you can put them anywhere. So I shall be placing them, on my 1899 Buckinghamshire map, on roads that lead to country stations, bearing the legend "To the Trains", just as they used to do. MH - any way that the background colours and the font can be user-selectable?
