I had to take a hypothetical test way back when in which you were stranded on the moon far from the base and had to rank equipment you had on hand from 1 to 15 in order of importance. One of these items was a pistol, which NASA ranked higher than I thought because they would use the pistol for propulsion.

So obviously I built a ship mostly powered by guns.

Having the inertial dampners on caps the ship's forward speed way below the maximum, so it is advised to turn them off.
