Rey Mysterio Jr. was unmasked after losing a hair vs. mask match against the Outsiders in 1999. He then feuded with Kevin Nash and other heavyweights, earning the nickname "Giant Killer."

Later that year, Mysterio and Konnan teamed up with Master P's No Limit Soldiers to take on The West Texas Rednecks. Master P left WCW shortly after, and the stable added Eddie Guerrero and Billy Kidman. The stabled, renamed as The Filthy Animals, feuded with The Millionaire's Club, The Natural Born Thrillers, and Team Canada before WCW closed its doors in 2001.
