City 21 - ThenNothing

Welcome to City 21.

Far, far away from the rest of civilisation, being under the rule of the combine, one small piece of paradise - figuratively at least - lay untouched by the combines' iron fist rule. The citizens are missing however, it's eerily quiet here.

The city is relatively in-tact, only the road system in the tunnels is damaged.

This map is far larger in scale and scope than the original City 22. The setting is midday rather than dusk, there is no more fog, the building architecture is far more interesting, and clipping is to higher standard. There is a tunnel that currently leads to a large area for building and dupes, and another side that leads to the upper cliffs. The main passage leads to a nice open beach. There is not yet a 3D skybox, as I am still prototyping, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue as I've put far more effort into covering up edges. I hope you enjoy the map :)

This is my second major GMod map. My first, City 22, was quite good for me at the time. I learned quite a lot from making it, however I don't consider it up to standard after my new experience with hammer. I have been practicing making Portal 2 maps in the down time. Hopefully City 21 is a worthy successor.

City 21 was developed with the goal in mind to be large enough for a large space to play in or create dupes in and run well too. In my experience, both of these goals were reached, and the map runs better than gm_construct.

Don't forget to have Counter-Strike: Sauce
This map can be run without anything mounted and without addons. For once, you are trouble free!
