Wade Barrett (NXT/Nexus)

NXT debuted in early 2010 as a cross between a wrestling show and a reality competition. Rookies from FCW were paired up with pros from the WWE roster. The winner of the competition was to receive a title shot in the WWE.

Wade Barrett, a bare-knuckle brawler from England, was the winner of the competition. Right after the season ended, Barrett led the entire NXT roster in an invasion of Monday Night Raw, attacking John Cena and establishing The Nexus as a dominant stable.

Barrett led The Nexus for most of the stable's run on the Raw roster, eventually losing leadership of the group to CM Punk.
