Early in the game's development, the Air Exchange was to replace Earth's air with toxic gases, forcing Citizens to wear gas masks, or rather gas-permeable hoods, along with a green coat and an apron, and red "identibands" on the left arm, reminiscent of an outfit worn by the real-life Chernobyl liquidators. In the end, the gas mask concept was removed because that would make Citizens' expressions difficult to read, and kept only for the Combine humanoid units. It was designed by Dhabih Eng.

Here's a model I hacked together that's meant to look like a good-enough facsimile of a character-study done during the development of Half-Life 2. This is what citizens looked like during the development of the game circa 1999-2002. The original model is lost, but there have been several attempts to remake it. I can't say I'm a fan of any of them, so I made my own. It's kind-of a quirky model, but it works. It's only a ragdoll, not an NPC or playermodel, and I'm not going to make it an NPC or playermodel. You're free to, if you want, but you should probably credit me. This model should also work in SFM, but I don't use SFM, so you'll have to find out for yourself.

Features:
- Eyeball shaders / eye-posing.
- Face-posing.
- Finger-posing.
- Flexy/bendy physics if you still use the physics gun to pose ragdolls. Otherwise, it works with the ragdoll mover just fine.
- Skin-variations for different skin-tones.
- Bodygroups to take his mask/apron off.
- Procedural bones to help with deformation around the wrists/hips when holding guns/running etc.

Known issues:

- The fingerposing is a little goofy. It's still perfectly functional, though.
- The respirator isn't double-sided, so you can see through it at some angles when you look at his face.

Edit: The addon now actually shows up in your spawn-menu under the name it has in the Workshop. This is what peak competency looks like, folks.
