I decided that the finale of SU:F was pure cancer, so I thought it would have been better to have Steven go insane, fall into a coma, and face his personal demons in a COF style nightmare instead.

This is his personal anxieties about himself manifested as "Sick Steven", a murderous gun wielding maniac who desires to shatter other gems and kill anyone in his way.

Sick Steven cares about nobody but himself and seeks to Kill regular Steven's personality so that he may take over Steven's body and carry out his dark desires in the real world.
