As far as I can tell there are no events for self flagellation.

Pretty much what MadPreacher said. Although it also says that it allows the use of the flagellate self decision. (Something like that. It’s probably the same or similar to the decision the coping mechanism trait of the same name makes available.)

Also, it says that it increases resistance to torture, which could be stress or health penalty (from torture) related. Or both. I haven’t gone to much into detail with the code myself.

Reading the code in vanilla it allows a ruler to gain piety from torturing prisoners. It also makes sadistic a virtue and compassion a sin.
