描述
Spiff's Practical Engineered Solutions, a division of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, presents vertical shaft miner VSM-03, a vanilla small-grid design without mods or DLC, and contains no rotors or pistons making it a perfect survival-ready solution for vertical tunnel boring a large-grid 3x3 shaft opening with sufficient clearance to install blocks for an airtight passage. This simple design includes a cockpit with O2/H2 generator for operation in any planetary environment, a large battery and nine small batteries, a front-facing connector to facilitate battery charging, a down-facing camera and spotlight for alignment, eight gyroscopes for enhanced stability, and a programmable block with Dixie Normus' AutoLevel script to significantly increase boring accuracy.

Operation is simple. Horizontally align VSM-03 over a reference point (I like to use the center of a conveyor tube or junction for reference) using the down-camera {2} for alignment, engage autolevel {4} or to lock the orientation, select the drills {1} and right-click to enable clearing mode, tap the up-direction key slowly to begin ascending while maintaining alignment over the reference point. Ascending too quickly will significantly affect alignment over the reference point; top ascending and clearing if misalignment occurs and realign VSM-03 over the reference point before clearing again. Continue upward until the desired shaft length is attained or you've broken through the ground above.

NOTE: Ingame scripts (in advanced settings) must be enabled for the AutoLevel script to function! If ingame scripts are not enabled, the player may instead use {6} to manually override the gyroscopes (i.e., lock the orientation) and successfully bore a vertical shaft.

NO MODS, NO DLC, NO ROTORS/PISTONS; SURVIVAL READY AND PROJECTOR BUILDABLE!

NOTE: Ingame scripts (in advanced settings) must be enabled for the autolevel script to function!

NOTES FOR BUILDING IN SURVIVAL WITH A PROJECTOR
(see the second-to-last picture).
1. Build a rotor frame on a powered grid; remove the large-grid rotor head and replace with a small-grid rotor head and lock rotation.
2. Stack 2 armor blocks, minimum, vertically atop the small-grid rotor head to provide sufficient clearance for building the miner.
3. Build a small-grid projector on top of the topmost armor block.
4. Load the blueprint into the projector; click on the setting to retain the blueprint after construction is complete.
5. Build the blueprint.
6. When completed, grind away the small-grid rotor head, armor blocks, and rotor frame, leaving the projector in place for future repairs.

REQUIRED PARTS FOR BUILDING IN SURVIVAL

AUTHOR'S NOTES
I designed this small ship while playing a recent survival game where I had built an underground base in the side of a small, flat-topped mound to protect myself from all the enemy NPCs that I included in the game. I really wanted a gun tower to protect my outside landing pad, and it made sense to go upward since the flat top was only about 60 meters above me. But I needed a way to accurately punch a vertical shaft with sufficient room for stairs so I could get up there for building the tower and subsequent repairs (I was playing with a nerfed jetpack). And that's how VSM-03 was born! It worked so well that I decided to publish the design. I hope it works well for you, too.

Another gem right here, trying this today in my underground base, time to make a elevator :lunar2020confidentrooster:
