"Hahaha...it's nice to see obedience."

In this mod, play as the nefarious Duke Raydrik from Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. Rule over the world with an iron fist as the dreaded Baron in Black!
Note: This mod requires Brave New World to work!

Raydrik's Munster is an aggressive-diplomatic civilization that thrives on militarizing and preying on the weak. Though Raydrik can thrive in pure Domination, he shines with a middle of the road playstyle, snagging just enough Puppets for him to start pumping out Grand Barons and cow the city-states of the world to bend the knee. When you've built your empire enough, take advantage of your Grand Barons domestic bonuses and Schwarze Rosen's excellent defensive capabilities to fend off those envious enough to try and take you down a peg, and ensure the world cannot harm the great Duke of Munster!

UA: The Baron in Black
Units are +30% more effective at intimidating City-States. For each Puppet in your empire, Great Generals are generated +20% faster and earn +2 Influence from City-States you could demand tribute from (up to a maximum of +100% increased Great General rate/+10 influence per turn.)

UU: Grand Baron (Great General)
Provides a weaker combat bonus to nearby units (10% vs. 15%), but this bonus extends to units up to 3 tiles away. Enemy units starting their turn within 2 tiles suffer a -33% Combat Penalty against Cities, and -33% Defense against Ranged attacks. Upon being born, gain +30 Influence with city-states you can demand tribute from. If expended in either the Capital or a city connected to the Capital, this unit will construct a Dukes Court in that city. If garrisoned in a city, provides a small amount of bonus defense and health to that city, as well as +10% Production.

UU: Schwarze Rosen (Gatling Gun)
Unlocked at Industrialization. Drastically weaker than the Gatling Gun (14/28 vs. 30/30). Can fire up to 3 tiles away. +1 additional range if this unit starts its turn stacked with a Grand Baron.

Duke's Court:
Only buildable by a Grand Baron. +2 Culture, +10% Culture. +5 City Defense. Units trained in this city start with an additional +15 EXP. Gain a small burst of Culture whenever a city-state becomes your ally. Costs 5 gold per turn to maintain.

This might be due to other mods, but I've noticed that every unit has the great baron penalty in my games at all times. I know that units used to have a "Created" internal promotion, which now gets replaced by the great baron penalties.

I use mods to facilitate warmongering, but with the constant -33% to damage dealt to cities and +33% damage received from ranged attacks, it gets annoying to capture cities and ranged units deal more damage than they should.

Just wanted to mention that in case someone else runs into it, or if you have an idea of what might be incompatible from your code. Had a fun round playing as Raydrik, thanks for making the mod, but unfortunately this side-effect made things less enjoyable for me.

The issue was mainly regarding code on my part, shouldn't have had anything to do with your game. After more testing/working through, that policy cost issue should be ironed out.
Let me know if it works for you!

I honestly have no idea why this is occurring, and I even uninstalled the game to see if that was the issue.

Thanks for the updated version! I'm here for a progress report.

After using steamworkshop.download in order to grab the new version. I can confirm that there is now an option to construct the Duke's Court inside my Capital: https://i.imgur.com/tqa7SDv.png But if you notice at the top left where the technology is, Masonry hadn't finished being researched and yet I was still able to construct the Court.

Here's an image of the Social Policy page once again https://i.imgur.com/Yj20bjD.png , The culture required to gain more policies should of increased twice but it didn't. I then tried it with JUST Raydrik and no other modded Civs; Same result as before: https://i.imgur.com/2lSXUOe.png

I then troubleshooted by completely uninstalling Civilization V and then reinstalling it in the hopes that maybe something in the core files was responsible for this. Played a game up until I grabbed the free Great General from Honor again, and I still got the error: https://i.imgur.com/T5HTZlF.png

I think I've found the root of your policy cost issue, it was mainly some missing lines in the dummy policies for Raydrik's UA. I've gone ahead and tweaked them, and in my testing these errors seemed to be gone.
I've also ironed out the Duke's Court ability a bit, including adding a UI button, so hopefully it should work out for you. Let me know if this new version works for you, and thanks again for your bug reports! :superel:

So it turned out that I had some issues with other mods such as playing some Science FE Civs and the Science Bugged out. I scanned my game and it turned out that I had some files that weren't valid so I downloaded those and it fixed the science problem, so I tried Raydrik again. It still bugged out with the Culture not going up from 25 to 30 like it should on Prince Difficulty. https://i.imgur.com/SL7cPHS.png / I then tried to see if it was just one Social Policy tree that caused it, but it seemed any social policy doesn't increase the cap on him: https://i.imgur.com/PXOxgJV.png

I don't know if this'll help in any way but this is my current list of mods: https://i.imgur.com/yPTkCIa.png

Thanks for the report! I'll look deeper into these errors.

I'd like to report a bug involving this mod. I've tested two games playing as Raydrik, and two games not playing as Raydrik, and I've had different results. But from both of the Raydrik games, his Culture Cap does not go up after obtaining a social policy. I played up until several turns later, and his Culture just suddenly bugs out and goes to the absolute max culture capable in the game; allowing him to purchase every single policy available, then the game does not grant the End Turn button to appear after all tasks are completed, as it continues to ask you to adopt a Social Policy even though you've bought them all in that one turn.

I also noticed that for some reason unless I'm missing something, Raydrik's Grand Baron Generals can't actually construct the Duke's Court building despite researching it's required technology; Masonry. https://i.imgur.com/80REwxA.png
